I'm just someone who loves to read and talk. But for anyone who wants
more information, here's some personal background. I've included the obligatory
family photo, but I am not going to post photos of our three cats--not
even if you beg me!

Family
Here I am with my husband and our daughter at her college graduation (May
14, 2000). Our daughter, too, is an avid reader, although her tastes differ
drastically from mine. She's mostly interested in fantasy, science fiction,
and horror, as you'll see if you check
out her home page (but only after you've thoroughly perused "Notes
in the Margin," of course).
For the rest of our Web pages, see The
Brown Log.
Education
B.A. cum laude, Boston University (Latin major, English minor)
M.A. in Latin, Fordham University
I also completed the coursework for a doctorate in English and American
literature.
