Introductory Notes
Emma Donoghue was born in Dublin, Ireland, on October 24, 1969. She holds a B. A. in English and French from University College Dublin and a Ph. D. from Cambridge University. During her life she has traveled much between England, Ireland, and Canada; in 1998 she became a permanent resident of Canada but considers herself an Irish writer.
